Peer Mentors

Volunteer as a Peer Mentor for our Community Support Agency mental health service in Bradford. Support and do activities with people who are dealing with mental health issues. We look favourably on volunteers who have past experience of mental health issues.

Volunteer Community Mentor at Skipton

We are looking for a Volunteer Community Mentor to work a minimum of four hours a week at our Community Café Hub in Skipton. The cafes offer a range of activities, advice and informal learning for vulnerable adults, particularly those experiencing social isolation. As a mentor, you would be helping our clients access the Community Cafes by escorting them from their homes and assisting the Community Project Worker to deliver activities.

Receptionist and Administrator volunteer

We are looking for someone to volunteer as a Receptionist and Administrator at our training centre in Bradford. The volunteer role will include meeting and greeting visitors, answering the telephone, booking clients onto courses and general administration duties. It is a fast paced environment so we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, can work under their own initiative, have an understanding of office etiquette and has a friendly, welcoming and flexible approach. Our training centre is open Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. The hours that you volunteer can be flexible. Travel costs will be reimbursed and comprehensive induction and training, along with regular supervision and support will be given to you.

Job Club and Drop-In volunteer

We have a Job Club and Drop-In volunteer role available at our training centre in Bradford. The Job Club and Drop-In takes place on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10am to 1pm. In the role you will be supporting clients to apply for jobs using job vacancy websites, with the aim to make clients become independent in their own job searches. An understanding of job searches and benefits is desirable but not essential, as full training will be given. We are looking for someone who can commit to one of the days for the full hours. This is a great opportunity to understand how job clubs work and gives you an insight into clients who have multiple needs. In return, we will reimburse your travel costs and provide you with comprehensive induction and training along with regular supervision and support.

Befriender role at YPASS

This is a dual volunteer role of Befriender and Group Support Worker based at our Young Persons’ Prevention and Support Service (YPASS) in Halifax. All applicants must be 18+. The role will take place during office hours Monday to Friday 9am -5pm – though we are looking for a few hours a week commitment. As a Befriender, you will be matched with a client and spend time with them whilst doing activities such as going to the park, museum, bowling or the cinema, giving them support with paperwork and attending appointments. We are looking for someone with an open minded non-judgemental approach, who has an understanding of the issues faced by young people and who is committed to helping others and reliable. We will reimburse travel costs and provide you with comprehensive induction and training along with regular supervision and support.
