Peer Mentors

Volunteer as a Peer Mentor for our Community Support Agency mental health service in Bradford. Support and do activities with people who are dealing with mental health issues. We look favourably on volunteers who have past experience of mental health issues.

Volunteer Community Mentor at Skipton

We are looking for a Volunteer Community Mentor to work a minimum of four hours a week at our Community Café Hub in Skipton. The cafes offer a range of activities, advice and informal learning for vulnerable adults, particularly those experiencing social isolation. As a mentor, you would be helping our clients access the Community Cafes by escorting them from their homes and assisting the Community Project Worker to deliver activities.

Café Assistant volunteer

Our Craven Community Cafés in Skipton and Settle are looking for Café Assistant volunteers to help the Community Development Worker to deliver the café sessions. In the role, you will help to set up and clear the room, make refreshments and meet and greet café clients and visitors.

Settle Community Café requires volunteers who are available every Wednesday, from 12:45pm to 16:30pm. Skipton Community Café requires volunteers who are available every Thursday, from 12:10pm to 16:00pm.

Dyneley House Surgery Peer Mentors

Volunteer as a Surgery Peer Mentor at Dyneley House Surgery in Skipton for our Craven Community Cafés. As a Surgery Peer Mentor, you will promote the Community Cafés, talk to those attending the surgery, signpost patients to relevant services, record health-related needs of patients and feedback to the Health Navigator if required. This role requires volunteers who are available every Tuesday morning.

Administration and Support volunteer

A new volunteering opportunity has become available at our Bradford Homeless Partnership scheme, which offers temporary accommodation for people in the Bradford district who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness.  The opportunity is to provide an administration and support role to the team. Basic duties will be dealing with paperwork, using internal systems to record client information, meeting and greeting and answering the telephone.

Evening Triage volunteer

This is a new opportunity with our Homeless Partnership team at one of our hostels in Bradford. The hours are 5pm to 10pm, Monday to Friday and flexible hours over the weekend. It’s a great opportunity to work in a team who take emergency homeless referrals and learn about the Homeless Reduction Act and the provision of emergency housing. We are looking for someone who has good communication skills, including appropriate telephone manner, basic computer skills, is reliable and non-judgemental and has a good standard of written and verbal English.

Befriender for Connecting Opportunities

Join the Connecting Opportunities team as a Befriender volunteer, based in Bradford. Connecting Opportunities helps new migrants to develop their skills and provide them with opportunities to find work and be part of the local community. Staff are looking for someone who is willing to spend time with clients doing social activities once a week. The volunteer should be non-judgemental and can encourage someone who needs support with social interaction.
